Applies to citizens and legal permanent residents of the European Economic Area and Switzerland.

In this privacy statement, we explain what we do with the data we obtain about you via https://www.searchhub.io. We comply with privacy legislation, which means: we state the purposes for which we process personal data; we limit collection to what is required for legitimate purposes; we request explicit consent where required; we take appropriate security measures and require the same of processors acting on our behalf; and we respect your right to access, correct or delete your data.

1. Purpose, data and retention period

We may collect or receive personal information for several business purposes:

1.1 Demo and business-case requests

Data: your work email address, the time of your request, the IP address it came from, the time you confirmed it and, if you write one, your message. Purpose: to arrange the demo or prepare the business case you asked for, and to reply to you. Basis: our legitimate interest in answering your request (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We send you nothing else unless you sign up for it separately. To protect our forms from abuse, we check each request automatically, for example its email domain, and we ask you to confirm your email address before we act on a request. Requests that look automated are held and get no reply unless a person decides they are genuine. Retention: until your request has been dealt with and we no longer need it to follow up on it, then deleted as described in “How long we keep data” below. If you do not confirm a request, we delete it after 14 days.

1.2 Newsletter

Data: your email address and the edition language you choose. Purpose: our monthly Search & Product Discovery Briefing, which also carries event news. Basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you confirm by clicking the link in our confirmation email. You can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link in every issue. Retention: until you unsubscribe.

1.3 To support services or products a customer wants to buy or has purchased

Data: email address; telephone number; internet activity information; professional or employment-related information. Basis: consent. Retention: we retain the email address of visitors who submitted a webform or purchased our software or services until the person requests deletion.

1.4 To offer personalized products and services

Data: email address; internet activity information; professional or employment-related information. Basis: consent. Retention: a limited period after service termination.

1.5 Compiling and analyzing statistics for website improvement

Data: internet activity information; professional or employment-related information. Basis: our legitimate interest in knowing whether our website works (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) for the counting described in Cookie Policy section 5; your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) for statistics cookies. Retention: raw visit data 90 days, summarised statistics without a time limit (see Cookie Policy section 5).

1.6 General contact (email, phone, post, and replies to our emails)

Data: your name, your contact details, your company and role if you give them, and what you write or tell us. Purpose: to answer your message and to deal with what you asked about. Basis: our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Retention: see “How long we keep data” below.

How long we keep data. We delete personal data at regular intervals. How long we keep it depends on the type of data and on the purpose it was collected for. We keep it while we need it for that purpose, and longer only where the law requires us to keep it, for example commercial and tax records. You can object, unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data at any time (sections 8 and 12). We then delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it. In that case we keep it only for that legal purpose and delete it when the period ends.

Cookiebot (Usercentrics A/S, Denmark) runs our cookie pop-up and stores your cookie choices. It receives your IP address and browser information on every page, before you make a choice, so that it can show the pop-up and record your answer. Usercentrics stores these records in the EU. Usercentrics states that this transfer is covered by standard contractual clauses or binding corporate rules.
